I am severely edematous. Poetry is weeping from every pore spanning from my scalp to my feet. I have nothing to do but wait until everything has left. Until every stanza has dripped out and every inch of skin is done pouring out couplets and odes. I have nothing to do but wait until all the sonnets are gone. These emotions your memory awake have brewed up storms and now poetry is raining through me.

The word love cannot withstand the weight of what I have in my heart for you.

Although still young in the eyes of many in this world, Tayyaba Shakeel has already learned a few lessons, pondered certain events, and reflected on her emotions.
In her first compilation of poetry divided into five sections, Tayyaba explores a variety of ideas and emotions that include love and heartbreak, additional abstract musings, suffering and lessons learned, letters and wishes for divinity, and banter that includes both heartening and gloomy reflections. Throughout her volume, Tayyaba shares poetic insight that she welcomes as a significant part of her identity, not just now but also as she continues to move forward in life.
Comets & Comments is a collection of poems that reveals a young woman’s introspective thoughts and emotions as she reflects on the life she is meant to have.
About the Author
Tayyaba Shakeel has been writing poetry for many years. When she is not writing, she enjoys her work helping people with eating disorders, trying new recipes, and adding to her collection of vintage books. Tayyaba lives in Summit, New Jersey. Comets & Comments is her first book of poems.
