Hindsight shows our downward path beginning with us being naive to each-other’s needs. We had no idea how to communicate what we were hoping for in the partnership. Perhaps this is how every marriage starts. From the very beginning, instead of talking things out, we seemed to put our hope in the fact that time would teach us how to grow and mature in our marriage.
As newly-weds, back in our country cottage, it was a particularly difficult start for Yvonne as she dealt with loneliness and home-sickness. This was her first time away from home and we were a long drive away from our parents. Like most people we expected our spouse to become our soul-mate and best friend as well as a firm supporter in what we wanted to achieve.

The creation of our common vision was a healing in itself. We could see that we basically wanted the same things with regard to the most important issues in our lives. We would now be working together towards those goals.
Little did we know how many events would happen that were completely beyond our control and yet turn out to be perfectly planned and perfectly timed. This is the transcendent element of the whole experience. However much you may desire something it can only encourage your actions and maybe those around you. It cannot affect the decisions of those outside of your area of influence.

Life is a journey from conception to our passing. We go through dark times that can force us into humility to admit that we cannot do this on our own. Thankfully, there is Someone who can help. Our Maker’s blessing is available to us all, whether we live in a palace or on death row.
Provision for Vision is about the miraculous turnaround of a life heading for destruction. Author David Corby and his wife Yvonne, married for over thirty years, experienced a major descent in their relationship and fell deep into debt. Their marriage was saved by turning back to our Maker’s instructions for life. They now help others by witnessing to their experience in marriage, parenting, finances, and finding and following a vision.

When I first heard of the title of Dave’s book, “Provision for Vision,” it seemed curious to me. I wondered what that had to do with a book on marriage. I then learned that in an effort to save their marriage, Dave and his lovely wife decided to put a vision board together depicting what they were believing God to do in their relationship and family. Once the vision was written down, God moved into action and supernaturally gave them provision for their vision. This book chronicles how God faithfully provided every step of the way on their healing journey. It will inspire and equip you to expect God to do the same for you! I not only recommend it as their Pastor, but as someone who has been married for 26 years. It may very well be your answer to prayer.

David Corby and his wife Yvonne live with their children and grandchildren in Connecticut, having moved from England in 2009. As a visionary engineer, David enjoys the amazing satisfaction of creation. He gains great joy from family and working the garden but is happiest when at the computer applying his imagination.
