About the Author

B. Behrend is the oldest of four children who, along with her mother and siblings, helped care for her father, who had Alzheimer’s. She currently resides with her husband, two adult daughters, and three grandchildren in St. Louis, where she stays busy caring for her ninety-five-year-old mother, who lives independently.
