AUTHOR
Kathy Elstad loves to use bits and pieces of her life in her writing. Polka Dottie came from playing Barbies with her granddaughters, Brooke and Lauren. When they played Barbies, Kathy always used a Barbie with a long, white dress and black polka dots. She named her Miss Polka Dottie. So when Kathy was creating a girl, long legged turtle, it was not surprising that Miss Polka Dottie popped into her mind. And so, Polka Dottie came to be! Writing is so much fun!
