It might be a red flag if…..he claims the bulky bracelet around his ankle is a fashion statement. It might be a red flag if….he claims to be divorced but his wife is not aware of it. It might be a red flag if….his profile picture is a mug shot. It might be a red flag if….his mom pays all his bills. It might be a red flag if….he says he has a bionic arm with special powers.
People ask, why did you pick him, why did you take him back, why do you stay with him? We all have reasons. Some say it’s because they love him, they are hoping he will change, they know he doesn’t mean all the things he says, he will appreciate all they have done someday. Some just admit to being foolish. There are many different reasons why we choose, and choose is the key word to stay or keep pursuing someone who exhibits red flags.
I have been a single mom for most of my mothering years and it can be done successfully. I started as a young bride at the age of 18 and became a mother two weeks after turning 19. I was single by 20 and went through a messy divorce. I married again a couple of years later with no guidance and found myself single again at the age of 31.
No I wasn’t a perfect mom, but my two children were safe and loved. They had clothes and food and the same opportunities that kids have with a two parent household. Yes I believe a two parent household is the best option for our children, but if we have an unhealthy relationship it can be detrimental to our children. Even an unhealthy dating relationship can certainly affect our children. When we are having a negative experience, our children become involved whether we intentionally involve them or not. Being an example to our children has more merit that it is ever given credit for.
We run a Carfax report on a care before we purchase it usually to the check history. When purchasing anything but a brand new home, the seller is required to disclose any problems the home has had or currently has. Why the heck shouldn’t we do the same before we date or marry someone?

Jennifer Lopez attended the College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah, on a music scholarship. She is a forensic K-9 handler, owns a grooming salon, and works with dogs outside her home. Lopez lives in Helper, Utah, with her four dogs. She has two daughters.
