INTRODUCTION: GETTING TO THE ANGEL POND
There is a secret way to get to the Angel Pond. I could let you guess all day and I bet you wouldn’t be able to figure it out.
Are you ready?
You have to lie down and be very still – and very quiet. Next, close your eyes.
No peeking!
Now picture a huge pond. At one end of the pond, there is a water fall rising up into the clouds. If you look really hard at the waterfall, you’ll see the face of a beautiful angel; she watches over the angel pond for you.
Now the fun begins.
You can do anything you want at the Angel Pond because it’s a magical place. You can decorate the pond any way you like, because it’s YOUR Angel Pond. No one else can come to your Angel Pond unless you invite them. There is no sadness, no evil, nothing mean or nasty at the Angel Pond. The Angel in the waterfall won’t let any of it in.
So now you can get started with your Angel Pond, but first let me tell you about one of Mercedes’ Angel Pond visits. It will help you create yours.
Angel Ponds can change from night to night, depending on you and your Angel in the waterfall.
So are your eyes still closed?
Okay, let’s go!

1. THE NIGHT OF THE UNICORN
It was a beautiful night. The stars were huge and all different colors. I was on my way to the huge blue rock alongside my Angel Pond; I love to sit there and think about all kinds of things, but tonight was going to be special! I was so excited! I had been asking for a Unicorn for as long as I can remember. Everyone said they would try to find one for me, but they hadn’t had any luck. My Nana said if I wanted one; just go to my Angel Pond. So here I am, on my way. I could hardly wait to get there.
Sitting on my rock, I looked up into the beautiful waterfall. Tonight I made the flowing waters pink, yellow, and purple. As I watched the water flowing into my pond, I could see her, the beautiful Angel that watched over me and my pond.
I told her that tonight I wanted to find a Unicorn. She smiled down at me and said, “Be still, believe, and it shall come to you.”
I sat for a while on my rock, dangling my toes in the warm water. There were lots of colored fish swimming around and every once in a while one would kiss my toes and wave at me; Silly fish.
There were trees of all different colors, flowers that sang, birds that could talk, but all I really wanted tonight was a unicorn. It was hard for me to sit still, I was too excited. Then I remembered my Angel said I had to be still and believe.
I looked over the pond and saw something I hadn’t seen before. It was on the other side of the pond. What?! It was a multi-colored caterpillar swimming! Of all the silly things, I thought to myself.
As it got closer to me, it got bigger and more beautiful. The caterpillar came up and lay next to. It asked what I was waiting for and I told it my story of how I always wanted a Unicorn. It asked me if I truly believed I could have one, and I said yes. It asked me if I ever saw a caterpillar turn into a butterfly. “Of course,” I said, “hasn’t everyone?” “Oh,” said the caterpillar, “but have you ever seen a caterpillar turn into a Unicorn?”
