Several Worlds Away
Are you out there?
Watching us?
Studying us?
Do you wonder if we exist?
I wonder.
I wonder if you exist.
I wonder if you want
To know that there is
More than just you out there.
We no longer search
For you
But I do.
Do you?
Do you feel alone
When you look up into the sky
And not see any stars?
Love is Figurative
It is…isn’t it?
Cats
Are creatures that bring love, comfort, and homeliness.
Water
Liquid, solid, steam
Don’t drink the salty stuff
It’s not fresh water.
Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink.
Something I Would Like to Say to Math Teachers
Nice try. I didn’t learn anything.
Coffee
You keep me awake.
In return I drink you up,
Over and over.
Moment 7
I was on the bus.
The guy sitting next to me,
He looked fairly average.
Until he pulled out a knife.
Moment 8
You see, I could be listening
To the lesson,
But poetry is just
So much more interesting.
Moment 9
I love how it only takes
The picking up of a pencil
For the poet to come up
With a beautiful piece.
Moment 10
This poem
Only has
Three lines.
(I lied.)
Moment 11
When I see
Condoms on the forest floor,
I always wonder:
Did they do it here?
Moment 12
Hush.
You don’t know things.
But you can find
The answers.
They are on
The internet.
Hush.
Moment 13
The teacher got a haircut.
It looks nice on her.
My hair is a little shaggy.
I should really get one, too.
Moment 14
I tried to give myself directions.
It didn’t work.
I got lost.
Sorry guys,
Please never trust me as a navigator.
Moment 15
Hey there, whatcha doing?
Stapling water to a tree.
How’s that working out for ya?
Not very well.
Moment 16
There was a bug.
His name was Sam.
He liked my apples.
So I killed him.
Moment 17
It’s a fine indicator
That when you can’t stay awake in class
You should probably
Be asleep.
Moment 18
Wendy, darling, do you have
Those papers I gave you?
So that’s what I was eating…
Excuse me?
Moment 19
Anything is better
Than exposing
Human rights
As a scam.
Moment 20
Don’t you just love it
When someone’s playing music
Through their headphones
And you can hear it?
Fire and Clouds
Dark clouds roll in and block out the sun.
The sun still shines, just not on my face.
I can’t sit in the shade in utter bliss,
I should be better than this.
Dark clouds roll in and people walk away.
Or maybe they don’t, they just seem to be.
Everything around me blooms, yet loses colour.
And I fall back on nothing;
A feeble attempt at flying.
It’s not working, you and I.
We’ve hit a curb.
You get off scot-free,
But I drown in burning petroleum.
Save yourself, see if I care.
I’ll be here.
Standing in flames.
