About the Book
Creating artwork is a process that takes time, patience, refinement, and the ability to transfer what we create in our minds into a beautiful piece of art. In Art Ninja, an elementary educator shares simple, practical exercises intended to help budding artists of all ages develop skills and improve artistic talent.
Phyllis Miller, who has spent nearly twenty years teaching art in elementary school, introduces new techniques, accompanying examples, and gradually progressive assignments that teach students a variety of skills and help them see as an artist. Through her guidance, students will learn how to draw proportional pictures, use grids to aid perspective, implement simple lines, train the eye to follow main lines, understand upside down drawing, and learn the power of positive and negative space as well as blocking in shapes of an image.
Art Ninja is a workbook designed to help artists discover and refine their artistic abilities and view artwork in an entirely new way.
