The Whistling Bunny Rabbit

Chapter 1 -- WE’RE HERE!

Mr. Rabbit stood at the edge of the forest and looked around. Everything was just as he expected: tall green and brown grasses, colorful wildflowers, and a small stream running through the meadow.
“This is the spot,” he said. “And most importantly, it is close to our family and friends.”
“I like it too,” said Mrs. Rabbit. “This area is beautiful with plenty of fields to grow our fruits and vegetables. It also looks like a wonderful place to raise a family.”
So Mr. Rabbit chose this spot for their home and went right to work digging a burrow in the ground with his powerful hind legs. He also gave special attention to a cozy corner where he built a nest of sweet-smelling hay for Mrs. Rabbit.
Four weeks later, the nest was filled with five teeny-tiny, pink baby bunnies. All the bunnies looked alike, except for one. That bunny had full, bright pink lips, all puckered up.
Looking down at the baby bunnies, Papa Rabbit thought he heard something. Quietly, he put his ear close to the nest. “I do hear something,” he said.
He heard a whistle – it was like a soft whisper.
