Mekhail looked back once more at the Creator and noticed that when He blessed each child, His face became sad and large tears flowed down His round checks. Mekhail wondered out loud, “Why was He sad and crying on such a happy occasion?” The voice replied, “He was sad because He knew that many would forget His instructions and would not be coming back to Him.”

About the Author
Michael R. Albert is a veteran of the US Air Force and a retired financial examiner. He taught religious education to sixth-graders and the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for many years. He and his wife, Madelyn, live in New Jersey. They have three grown sons and four grandchildren.
