About the Book
In the delightful picture book , Zack had our Back, a young girl and her mother encounter a homeless veteran who is a scary apparition on the streets of their home. They learn an important lesson about judgement, however, when the encounter takes an unexpected turn for the better. Zack had our Back is about the toxicity of misperception. It is a simple book for children about the sacrifice of war and the lessons we can take from it.
About the Author
Valerie King is a wife, mother, volunteer, writer and editor. She is the owner of Elemental-editing.com, has published in RESTON magazine and is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Editors and Writers UA among others. Her volunteer work has included time to the rehabilitation of wounded and homeless veterans, environmental awareness, health-related fundraising, and endangered species protection –particularly big cats, and others. She enjoys playing the piano and listening to music, beachcombing, celebrations of all sorts, cooking as therapy and art, gardening, traveling, and sports. She resides in Reston, Virginia with her husband and has been spotted enjoying lectures and other amenities of the locale.
