Kangaroo Jane lived in a mob, gathering items she thought was her job. While all her friends had a Joey or two, Kangaroo Jane had a lamp and a shoe.
She spent her days picking up items for fun, carefully tucking them one by one. When night-time arrived and the moon shone bright, Kangaroo Jane had her own nightlight.
Need a pillow, a brush, or even a book? Kangaroo Jane had it all in her sweet little nook. Content was she with her pouch full of stuff ... yet she wanted more. It was not enough!

About the Book
Kangaroo Jane is content to spend her days filling her pouch with fun items she’s collected like lamps and shoes, a pillow, and a brush. She begins to realize that even though her pouch is full, her heart is not. She notices other kangaroos and wonders if she’ll ever find just the right thing to fill her pouch and fill her heart.
Kangaroo Jane just has to see what others do and if they save stuff. She ventures around the zoo admiring the animals and their relationships with their friends and mates. Her wise friend bird finally offers the sad kangaroo some sage advice.
A rhyming picture book for children, Kangaroo Jane tells the story of one kangaroo who discovers what truly fills her heart and her pouch is something far greater than the items she collects.
About the Author
Staci J. Allen, currently the director of caring ministries at a local church, has more than fifteen years of experience teaching and working with preschoolers. Allen and her husband, Rick, live in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and enjoy spending time with their adult children and grandchildren.
