About the Book
When the alarm rings at 6 a.m., Lila doesn’t want to get up and go to school. She feels like snuggling in bed. Maybe she’s sick. Perhaps she could plead with her mom. She’d rather stay home and play with her toys. But dad insists Lilia must get ready for school.
Then she remembers a lesson she learned at school about how to bring happy thoughts into her head. Lila takes three mindful breaths. She thinks happy thoughts. She stretches, touches her toes, and hops on one foot. Lila is ready to face the day.
This picture book for children follows Lila as she learns to navigate the stresses of the morning using strategies she’s learned about calming herself and with the help of her parents.
