About the Book
Liz is a young bison calf who loves life and wants to share her environment with you. When the sun is shining on the beautiful grasslands of Yellowstone Park, she and the rest of the bison herd have a lovely time running, playing, and resting.
Here, Liz shares interesting facts about herself and her bison family. She explains how she will grow larger and her fur will become darker. She will begin to look like her parents. The bison herd always stays near a water source, such as the lakes and rivers of the North American plains. Although they must watch out for predators, they live on protected land in national and state parks, where visitors may see them. With Liz’s help, you can learn all about the daily activities of the Yellowstone bison.
This children’s book, complete with original photographs, offers an introduction to the life and characteristics of bison and makes young readers aware of the need for conservation.
