Andrea walked up to Sam’s bedside while Jeff’s family talked with the doctor. She was just informed on Sam’s condition. At least now she knew why Sam was so ill. She’s going to have a baby… Jeff’s baby. Tears rolled down her cheeks. Don’t lose it now! I have to be strong. Andrea reached down, gently holding her hand. “Sam? It’s me Andrea.” With the bandages on her eyes she couldn’t tell if she was awake.
“Andrea! You have to get out!”
“Shh… you’re safe now Sam. You’re in a hospital.” Sam tried to sit up. “Take it easy, Sam. Put your head back down.”
“I can’t see… It’s so dark. Dad! Jeff!” Andrea moved away as the doctor came in. “Don’t touch me! I have to find him.”

About the Book
As a child, the people Samantha Dearheart loved most were her parents, Cyril and Faith. Together, they lived above her father’s small grocery store not far from Samantha’s school in downtown Boston. When Samantha’s mother gets sick, the young girl thinks the illness will pass. Instead, at the age of ten, she loses her mother to cancer.
Samantha stays strong for her dad. She wants to grow up just like him and nothing like her hateful, controlling Aunt Judith. Andrea Wilson is new to the city as a student at Boston University, and she agrees to help care for Samantha. Andrea misses her family, and she’s unsure of her path. Driven to succeed as a lawyer like her parents, she has no time for love.
When tragedy strikes Samantha again, she finds no comfort with her Aunt Judith. She has no choice but to face life’s challenges head-on while fighting for her future and family. Together, Samantha and Andrea must learn to take care of themselves, each other, and their hearts in order to survive the ups and downs of life, love, and friendship.
About the Author
Karyl Adams was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and she draws from her life experiences in broadcast journalism to create worlds that her readers can slip into like a warm bath. As a former track competitor, she has a passion for helping physically challenged individuals live their athletic dreams. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking for friends and community events.
