No other Christian denomination makes the bold claims made by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—that resurrected apostles of Jesus visited Joseph Smith and conferred their apostolic authority upon him; that a resurrected, ancient American prophet named Moroni visited Joseph Smith and delivered a volume of ancient scripture to him; that God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph Smith; and that through the prophet Joseph Smith, God has now set up His kingdom on the earth. I Will Send My Messenger presents a lucid and forthright introduction to Mormonism, relating how the rise of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the fulfillment of Malachi’s prophecy that God would send his messenger to the earth in the last days to prepare the world for the Lord’s second coming. Many of the prophets foretold of this latter-day messenger and of the great latter-day restoration that God’s messengers would bring to pass. The Lord Jesus Christ spoke of it; so did the apostles, Peter, Paul and John; so did the prophets Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and Joel. Mormonism is in full harmony with the teachings of the Bible—despite the claims of its outspoken critics—and the world is invited to learn the truth before condemning the faith. The testimony of Joseph Smith and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that Jesus is the Savior of the world and that God speaks from heaven to give messages to humankind today—messages whose importance to all the world is unsurpassed.

About the Author

C. Paul Smith has operated a general law practice in Maryland since 1978, after receiving a law degree from Brigham Young University. He is also an author who has written extensively on constitutional, political, historical and religious issues. His publications include: The State of the Constitution (2002); The State of the Constitution--2017; The Fetal Right to Life Argument (1977); and The Prophet Joseph Smith--Restoration Issues (2019). Paul and his wife, Terry, are parents of twelve children, and grandparents of 35. All nine of their sons are Eagle Scouts, and Paul has been an adult Boy Scout leader for many years, receiving the Silver Beaver Award in 2013. Eight of Paul and Terry's children have served missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Paul and Terry recently served a full-time mission in Texas, and Paul served a mission in France (1970-72). He has served in many local church callings including bishop, high councilor and stake Young Men's president. Paul has coached and refereed numerous youth basketball, baseball and softball games. He has also been a local elected official in Maryland, including Alderman of Frederick City and Vice President of the Frederick County Board of Commissioners.
