About the Book
The frogs of Lily Pad Pond are enjoying a beautiful summer day when Grandma Alane, the oldest and wisest frog, decides they should have a party. She invites some younger frogs to spread the news and think about games.
Grandma Alane wants to make invitations to send out with the young frogs, but there’s one big problem: the frogs of Lily Pad Pond can’t read. To solve this problem, Grandma creates a song to spread the news. She also invents a system using symbols to help the young frogs in their travels.
Developing new concepts such as addition and subtraction can be a daunting experience for some children. Lily Pad Pond allows kids to write math equations by using hops and symbols. Learning to write equations can be as easy as hop, hop, hop. Just be mindful of symbols, and write away like the frogs do.
