On their way down to the valley, Vizzy, who was a bit of a showoff, decided to leap and hop as far and as fast as he could, right near a cliff!
“Vizzy I would slow down and be careful if I, were you,” warned Chil.
“I’m fine, Chil. And by the way, you are not me,” whispered Vizzy.
“Whoops!” Vizzy slipped and nearly fell off the mountain path if Chil hadn’t grabbed him by his ear!
“Ouch! Why did you do that?” asked Vizzy. Vizzy felt embarrassed that Chil had to save him from himself.

About the Book
Chil is a courageous and loyal chinchilla living in the highlands of South America. His best friend, Vizzy, is a strong-willed and energetic long-eared vizcacha. One day after a wise condor tells Chil that there are many wonderful things to see outside his home, he and Vizzy decide to leave their mountain friends and travel to the valley floor to explore a new and exciting world.
As Chil and Vizzy set out on their quest, they venture into a mostly unknown landscape full of unfamiliar animals such as culpeos, alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas. While on their journey, the two learn the importance of friendship, the value of teamwork, and the fact that everyone can be brave and joyful.
In this delightful fable for children, a chinchilla and a vizcacha on a great South American adventure discover what makes each of them special and how together, they can overcome their fears and challenges.
