Seatack Park sat right off Birdneck Road. A dark maroon painted sign made of planked fencing wood with white painted letters introduce its existence to visitors and passerbys. The parking lot was filled with rocks and fenced off by large, dark brown, rotted beach logs that gave it character. Small poles with chains running in between them served as a separation from the park and parking lot. To the left of the park was a small children’s section consisting of merry-go-round, a small swing with bucket seating and opening for legs, see-saw, and small animal characters attached to a large spring used for rocking purposes. Each of these areas was dug out and sand placed all around the base. Straight ahead was a basketball court. To the right of it, picnic tables and grills with a roof built above it for weather protection. To the left, a baseball field. The rest of the small community park was grass surrounded by woods.
”Clink, this is so nice and secluded. How did you know about this place?” Vanessa asked after touching her 16 oz glass bottle of coke against his, while sharing a large slice of Domino's extra cheese pizza with black olives.
”How about you tell me why Domino's and why extra cheese and black olives had to be added no matter what?” Mike asked with amusement. The pink, peach, lavender, violent, gray, purple and blue hues of the sunset faded into each other to form a perfect natural Northern lights landscape.
”This is truly amazing. Now, how many girls have you brought out here?” Vanessa asked before biting her lip in anticipation of his reply.
”I just found this place a few days ago so I haven't had the chance to break it in yet, but give me a couple of days, Joe.”
Vanessa reached over and punched him in his left arm with her fist while they lay on their backs. Soon they held hands and enjoyed the view as the sounds of the woods added to the romantic scene.
”What are you thinking?”
”I don't know. Why are girls always thinking so much? I'm just enjoying this time with you, Joe.”
”I don't know. I really like you and I wanted to know if you wanted to maybe go steady? That's all,” Vanessa asked nervously.
Mike sat up and Vanessa followed. He gently placed his leather coat around her shoulders then cradled her face and slid his tongue into her mouth. After thoroughly massaging each others tongues, Mike simply answered, “Of course I do, Joe.” Then he placed his hat on her head and touched the tip of her nose affectionately with his index finger.
