About the Book
Eight-year-old James Binn has lived in his new home in a new state for two weeks. He likes it there with his family, but he’s sad and often misses his friends. As his mother wipes away his tears, she gives him a special gift: a homesick medicine quilt. James’ mom shows him that each quilt square delivers a special message, meant to soothe, encourage, and remind. Mom helps James learn ways to address and ease the sadness he feels. Homesick Medicine, a picture book for children, shares universal ideas about rising up and finding happiness to ease the transition of moving.
