'One time, I saw a kid jump off a bouncy board and sink all the way down to the bottom of Pool! I didn't think ANY of that was fun. I didn't like to play in Pool. Pool and I were not friends. I was so happy the day that work crew came to our house and covered up Pool with that HUGE blanket. Pool always took looooong winter naps.'

About the Book
My Friend Pool was written for children who experience sensory sensitivity in what many of us think of as common, everyday tasks or activities. The storyline was composed to help sensory sensitive children understand that it is not only normal to feel such things, but that they are not alone. Additionally, this based-on-real-life narrative illustrates that they may even be able to find enjoyment in some of those simple pleasures of childhood…. like swimming in a pool with friends…that to them may feel not so simple and not so enjoyable.
About the Author
Writing a children’s bedtime story has always been a secret dream of mine. When my daugther was younger, reading to her at night was time I cherished dearly. Watching her face light up when something I read aloud resonated with her is a feeling of joy I hope for all parents and caregivers to experience.
