About the Book

It’s a celebration! A young boy has become a new follower of Jesus—he has been adopted by a king. Now he is starting to understand what that change really means for him. His journey is an adventure, but he has no need to fear. His sins have all been forgiven, and his newfound freedom in Christ causes him to feel like dancing, and singing. He knows that when things get rough, he can turn to Jesus for guidance.

Written in an illustrated poetic format, this children’s book portrays a young boy celebrating as he realizes the magnitude and significance of his relationship and journey with Christ. It encourages conversations with children to help them explore the foundations of faith in Jesus Christ. Knowing that God is in us, with us, and for us as our Father, friend, and King is great cause for celebration.

About the Author

Iva Hendon is a devout Christian who has taken great joy in seeing her descendants become followers of Jesus. She is an educator with a BA in SPE-MR from the University of Alabama and a Master’s degree in Special Education/Learning Disabilities. As an empty nester, Hendon spends her time, outside of family, serving as Action Groups Director for Alabama Eagle Forum, a Christian, pro-family policy organization that advocates and lobbies for conservative values.

Lona Courington is a retired nonprofit executive who is rediscovering her art. She holds a BFA in painting and graphic design from the University of Alabama.
