The Book Of Zero

Where others are inept from trouble, I'm exposed to it. As for the dark? It has always been my sanctuary. The monsters in the dark are made by someone's uncertainty, make believe yet real to the mind. The monsters in the dark from me are just that, completely make believe, submissive to my own brain. The monsters in the light? Those are very real.
The room grew darker as if the black had been dropped in shadow. Blood faded with the new scent of lilac. It was here with us… the shadow.
I couldn't see it but knew it was standing over us, watching me. I focused on the dark then finally found it. It was an area blacker than the rest. I felt the icy poor of uncertainty drip down my back and settle into my stomach.
Its boney hand reached out to me. As its fingers grew closer to my lips, I forced my eyes to stay locked on it empty face. For what did I truly fear? Not him.
As the tip of his finger touched my lip, my body convulsed and a red flash disassociated me from my place in bed next to Zeek, inside my broken body.
I saw myself sitting on a tall throne of black rock and gold in a room of cracking alabaster. Large stained-glass windows and a black marble floor interlaced with precious stones. I wore a pure white dress and my body was alive with my bright emerald eyes dramatically contrasting against crow feather black hair. Zeek sat next to me in his natural hellhound state, eyes burning red. Fire grew around us, but it did not burn us. The flames bowed down to us, respecting our power.
An old, crippled man walked to us, holding a crown of knuckle bones adorning diamonds and white roses. I felt him place it upon my head, whispering softly, “God Is She. Welcome home, my child.”
