Miss Molly Marbles knocks hard on the den door shouting, “Hello in there!” For a few seconds there is a muffled silence and then a high pitched voice calls out, “Help!” It is Mother Rabbit’s eldest, Fluffy. Miss Molly shouts again, “Crafty Fox open this door immediately or I’ll get the hound dogs and knock this door down myself.” Crafty Fox nor Bandit want the hound dogs to pounce on them, so they immediately open the door. Inside huddled together are the three little bunnies, trembling but relieved they’ve been rescued. Mother Rabbit runs inside gathering her girls in a huge group hug. Flora, Sally and Nervous Hilly applaud with relief.

About the Book
Miss Molly Marbles is a retired botanist—someone who studies plants. She has sparkling blue eyes, wire-frame glasses, snow-white hair, and cherub cheeks. She uses a walking stick rather than a cane to assist her in getting around. And she is very passionate about animals, endangered species, and the health of the environment. Tales from Miss Molly Marbles presents a series of stories focusing on social and environmental issues. In “Crooked Tail,” a chipmunk named Flora, who lives under Miss Molly’s back porch, gets injured when her tail gets caught in the porch’s screen door. “The Heist” follows Crafty Fox and Bandit the raccoon as they make a plan to kidnap Mother Rabbit’s three baby bunnies and make them work as nannies and housekeepers. In “Palooza Time,” Miss Molly holds a party for her animal friends and makes an important announcement. Designed to encourage conversations about various issues, this collection of children’s stories features a conservationist and her animal friends and explores the ways our actions can have a lasting impact on others and the environment.
About the Author
Renee Elizabeth Wilson holds a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the Medical College of Virginia Campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. She devoted her twenty-five-year professional career to assisting the disabled. Having a disability herself allowed her to relate more easily to her clients and to understand the importance of empathy, compassion, self-confidence, and courage. She resides in Virginia with her two dogs.
