After doing much genealogical work on my ancestors who lived in Europe and immigrated to the United States between World War I and World War II, I turned my concentration to my ancestors who remained in Europe. Through a DNA test, I learned of relatives of mine who lived in Vienna and the remarkable lives they led until World War II begun. I decide to go back to Vienna to further research these ancestors and to try and walk in their footsteps.

About the Book
The author is also the main character of this book, and some parts of the book are autobiographical. Pat while doing genealogical research, finds out an intriguing story about one of her ancestors. She goes back to Vienna, Austria to try to understand why things turned out the way they did. While in Vienna a most extraordinary occurrence happens to her. The reader, as well, is taken on a private tour of present day Vienna, with all the important sights to see, the sounds and unique food.
About the Author
Pat Serby lives in Manhattan, where she has lived for most of her life. She has an interest in her family genealogy, which Pat has been doing extensive research. From that research, the idea of this book came to her, while looking at old photographs of her ancestors.
