About the Book
Meet Cabo, a big dog with an even bigger heart and a whole lot of nerves! He loves his walks—but sometimes other dogs bark at him along the way. That makes him super anxious and very sad. He wants to make new friends, but he is too scared. Can his human friend, Skye, help him work through his fears?
Cabo the Nervous Terv is a story about anxiety, the power of positive thinking, and the joys of living life to the fullest. It encourages young readers to believe in themselves and follow their dreams, no matter the challenges they may face along the way.
“With 40 years’ experience in the mental health field, this is exactly the type of book I’d seek out to work with children experiencing anxiety. I love everything about this story, the approach normalizing anxiety feelings and willingness to try new things. Focusing on being brave, taking chances, and building on our strengths while learning basic coping skills starting with deep breathing is perfect!”
