Buttercup and Violet

Buttercup especially loved to eat Christmas cookies. Violet always made a triple batch of cookies so that she had enough to decorate her tree and satisfy Buttercup’s cookie craving. Violet also loved to deliver cookies to all their fairy friends on Christmas Day. “What do you want to do when the cookies are done...besides eating them?” Violet asked. “Christmas, and especially Christmas Eve, are my favorite days of the year, and I want to do something that makes people happy,” she added. “I want to be joyful, just like the song says!” She looked over at Buttercup and smiled. Buttercup had red and green sugar sprinkles all over her mouth and some on her nose. Violet went into the living room and came back with two small buckets. The buckets were labeled “Fairy Dust” and were full of shiny gold powder. Violet put the buckets of sparkling fairy dust onto the table with a thud, and Buttercup looked up. “Buttercup, you should definitely be happy on Christmas Eve. So I know what we should do. Let’s go fairy-dusting!” Buttercup perked up right away. “Fairy-dusting! Of course. Why didn’t I think of that? There is nothing I like better than going fairy-dusting on Christmas Eve!” Buttercup said. Violet agreed, “Me too!”
