Grasping for Power

Seeing the executive committee members going in and out of Angela's office with smiles, it is evident to all the staff that Angela was the new AAA Director. Several staff members then came to her office to congratulate her. Shortly afterward, Camilla stormed into Angela's office, outraged and beside herself with anger. “Why are you just sitting there?” She yelled in anger. Seeing Camilla's rage, Angela was calm and decided not to say anything that would fuel the fire. Furiously Camilla yelled, “So, they chose you over me.” Hesitating, Angela calmly said, “Yes.” After Camilla shouted a few other negative comments, she hurriedly left and headed down the hall to Mr. Percy's office. Mr. Percy and a group of executive committee members were behind closed doors discussing how the votes had gone and what was said after telling the opposing members about Camilla's threatening comments. At that moment, without knocking, Camilla shoved the door open and walked in. She immediately started yelling at the executive committee members. She informed the committee members that it wasn't over and they would be sorry for their decision. When they asked her to leave, she continued shouting threatening remarks. "Y'all will be sorry, I promise.” She angrily yelled. Her outburst was loud enough to be heard by everyone in the office. She behaved in a manner no one would have ever expected. After she had displayed her bitterness, she turned and walked out, slamming the door so hard that it caused the pictures on the wall in the hallway to become misaligned. She then went into her office got her purse, and left.
