About the Book
Meet Dana is the second book of the Hero of Hope series. Dana is a young girl with Down syndrome who learns how to embrace her disability. There was a time in her life when she did not like who she was, but found the hero within. Endless possibilites are ahead!
About the Author
Melissa D’Accordo, PhD is a curriculum specialist, education consultant, and advocate for people with disabilities. She earned her doctorate of philosophy in education. She has been dedicated to the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities for over twenty-five years and has conducted both qualitative and action research within the field. She recently received the Educator Award of Distinction. She believes strongly in teaching acceptance and breaking down barriers that affect people with disabilities. She sets very high standards for the people she educates and believes the bar needs to be set high for all children, adolescents and adults as long as they are provided with the necessary tools to succeed. You can do anything you want to do as long as you believe in yourself. Hero of Hope is a series of six books that teaches all ages and all abilities the importance of finding the hero within so that you can persevere through life no matter what!
