About the Author

Allyson Maida is the author of 180: A Counterintuitive Method for Long-Lasting Personal and Professional Change. The author of blogs and documents that address human behavior, rationale, and methods to create change, she has also contributed to The Emotional Life of Money: How Money Changes the Way We Think and Feel (Mary Cross, 2017). Her research includes “US Millennials and the Hook-Up Culture: An Online Descriptive Survey of Hook-Up Attitudes, Beliefs, and Experiences.” She is a veteran associate adjunct professor at St. John’s University Department of Criminal Justice and Homeland Security A keynote and workshop presenter, she is the content creator and host of the podcast The Carp. In 2023, she was in residence for Virtual 5 O’Clock, presenting “Increasing Success with Dr. Allyson: Insights into Decision-Making, Relationship-Building, Communication, and Behavior.” Of note, she is recognized as having been the youngest female in the United States to twice create and become appointed to the position of executive director of two government youth bureaus.
