About the Book
Over the years Greg’s four children have spent many hours sitting at the kitchen table watching their dad draw cartoons for a local weekly paper as well as drawing designs for business logos, and t shirts for special small town events, that his wife would hand silk screen. He made copies for them to enjoy coloring, and now his 9 grandchildren have the same opportunity. Turning his cartoons into an actual coloring book seems like the natural way to share his art, as well as the humor of the unique Alaskan life, for both visitors and residents alike. Adults will enjoy coloring these cartoons just as much as the kids.
About the Author
Greg was raised in Rochester NY. He completed his Associates degree in Natural Resource Conservation in 1972 at Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua NY. At the age of 20 he transfered to the University of Alaska in Fairbanks to continue his studies in Wildlife Management. In 1979 he moved to Haines Alaska. He has combined his love for wildlife, drawing, and sense of humor in his art for his entire adult life. For years Greg has been encouraged by his many friends, neighbors, and family members to print his cartoons. After retiring from the Haines Post Office in 2022, he has finally found the time to sort through his hundreds of cartoons as well as to produce more for his first book. It was his children, and grandchildren that insisted his first book of cartoons be a coloring book for all ages. South East Alaska is a popular destination for cruise ship passengers and other visitors who are intrigued with the unique life style that rural Alaskans encounter in their daily lives, and they will enjoy this book every bit as much as Alaskan residents.
