I Crossed the Color Line I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw love I embraced it I saw the eyes of My True Love Starring back at me He blushed And smiled at me I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw love I smiled back Blushes and gazed down My heart felt Alive You stood close you asked me To hold your hand I gave it in Love I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw love I embraced it You asked me for help You were weary You seemed upset You turned to me I gave you help We talked and we Hugged You respected me I faound a friend Who cared about me I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw love I embraced it You betrayed me But I promised A promise of Love My heart hurt I had to close a door I never stopped loving I never stopped praying I had to stand up For you didn’t stand up For me You silenced me You watched When they hurt me But I kept a promise I walked silently I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw love I embraced it God intervened He showed us each The truth of our hearts He showed me You turned around You began following Him I told you of His Love I told you of His forgiveness I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw love I embraced it You showed me the color line You showed me the denial I didn’t want to see it For all that was taught me Would be a lie I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw love I embraced it I kept my promises They were very hard To keep God carried me Throughout it all He taught and healed me Today I stand strong There are those who Keep showing me The color line But I don’t want To see it I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw love I embraced it Now God walks with me In peace and calm He teaches me Many lessons He promises me You Love, Me That you will keep Your Promises I crossed the color line I didn’t see it I only saw Love I Embraced IT!

About the Book
During a time of great pain Regina and her children were separated from one another due to the loss of their home. Enduring chastisement and the judgement of others and trying to protect her children from the repercussions of false perceptions. No one was on her side. God was the only one there to help during the storm. Family and friends turned their backs on her. God gave her the pen and a voice. He helped her through the confusion. He wanted her to ask questions to help her see the truths. Quietly she penned these poems and God guided her out of the fire into the light. Today she is united with her children. She has her own home and the future looks bright drawing, writing and listening to God’s guidance. Regina wants others to know God can bring you to peace and calm in your life. He can walk you out of the storm to higher heights and understanding.
About the Author
Regina Marie Blaylock is the mother of two beautiful children. She holds a BS in Special Education, a MA in Early Childhood Education, and a BA in Language Arts. She is a teacher for special needs infants and toddlers and also works in the children’s ministry at her church. When she is not penning poems, she enjoys playing tennis, volunteering for charities, and sharing her writings on ceramic tiles. Regina began writing poetry when she asked God to help her through a divorce and keep her children safe. The poetry comes through her when God is teaching her something, when something inspired her, or when others touch her life. She began writing and drawing her poetry on ceramic tiles after her mission trip to rebuild Lakeshore, Mississippi, from Hurricane Katrina.
