Welcome to the future. Today is my birthday, a day of big decisions. I have the choice to either continue my life as I’ve lived it so far. Or, I can decide to change it completely. I can say goodbye to everyone I know and everything I do. I can change the way I look. I can walk away as if I died and completely start anew. It is my turn to decide if I REEXIST, ie., REtire and EXIt Self and Time. If I REEXIST, I will no longer be permitted to have any communication with all of the people I have known up to this point in my life. Saying goodbye means ripping my heart out only to replace it with, what, the chance to fill it again? But, if I stay, I risk being left behind when everyone I love has their moment to leave.

About the Author
This is Christy Strazzella’s debut novel. She is currently a resident of Washington, DC, and Durango, CO. She has a husband and three grown children.
