About the Book

Follow Henry the hedgehog as he sees his classmates in need of some basic life essentials. He problem solves with his family and community on how best to help his friends, while being an example of kindness, generosity and resourcefulness to those around him. Henry sees his classmates without proper winter garments or not enough to eat. With the help of those around him he not only helps his animal friends, but also others who he doesn’t even know. Henry can teach all of us that if we look, we can see need right under our noses. If we enlist the help of others, we can do more, and if we are grateful for what we have it’s actually fun to help others! As a young hedgehog he has the urge to put on his cape of heroism and tell everyone what he did, but in the end, he realizes that his silence, humility and gratitude are what should rule the day and guide his spirit. Come on this fun adventure of happy gratitude and helping others in real ways. You too can be a helpful hedgehog!

About the Author

Robin is a dynamic professional based in South Carolina, known for her passion for community engagement and her commitment to fostering positive change. With a background in everything from real estate marketing, landscaping, specialty toy store ownership to nonprofit leadership Robin has dedicated her career to helping others, while promoting local initiatives and advocating for individuals and families to become self-sufficient. A graduate of a small private high school and the University of South Carolina, Robin combines her education with hands-on experience to address the unique needs of her community. As a child Robin’s mother introduced her as her “wild child.” As an Air Force Brat life was always full of new adventures and change. She found it good to like change. Robin’s father loved to tell her and her sister bedtime stories of when he was a baby bear, or baby fox or bunny. Those were the images that would be rolling around in their heads as they drifted off to sleep. Baby animals have always been near and dear to her heart. Robin learned the lessons of leadership from extraordinary mentors and a lot of trial and error. Fearless from her mother’s attitude of, “why not try it” to her father’s encouragement that she could do whatever she set her mind to… she kind of did! Her commitment to service and her ability to connect with others make her a respected figure in her community and inspiring those around her to get involved and make a difference Her love of adventure and helping others led her to create Henry the Helpful Hedgehog. He too can teach you that if you try you can do it. If you want things to be different you can be part of the change that might just help others.
