About the Book
The Watusi was a popular social dance fad in the 1960’s. The name Watusi is thought to come from the African Tutsi tribe known for their distinctive form of dance. Researching how to dance the Watusi was as elusive for me as it was for Lucy. There are many different versions of the dance. My favorite version is from 1964 with first Daughter Luci Baines Johnson dancing with actor Steve McQueen. There is also a line dance version of the Watusi. Have fun exploring the many different song and dance versions of the Watusi!
