The sails go swish, swish
The waves go splash, splash
Across the sea, goes Happy, Happy me!"
Happy loves being docked at The Seashell Safe Harbor. He feels protected. He feels safe. He feels happy.
Happy learned how to sail in the calm harbor waters as his friends followed along-Starfish Sue, Pelican Hugh, Dolphin Rue. Lighthouse Lou watched from afar as he stood tall near The Seashell Safe Harbor. The people would wave as Happy sailed around the harbor. Happy's sail had the biggest smile on it.
The next day, Captain Drew said, "Happy, we're going to take a journey out to sea."
Happy began to worry. "The sea is a big place with waves, rocks, and reefs." Starfish Sue sees Happy with a sad face. "Why such a sad face Happy?" Happy replied, " I am going out to sea. There are big waves, large rocks and reefs that I can't see. I don't want to disappoint Captain Drew, I need courage!"

About the Book
Happy the Sailboat loved the safe feeling he felt in Seashell Safe Harbor. He had friends. He made people Happy when he sailed in the calm waters of the harbor. One day, Captain Drew announced his plan to take Happy out of the harbor, past the lighthouse, and out to sea. Happy did not look happy. “The sea has big waves, rocks, and reefs.” Happy’s friends joined together to help Happy find a way to sea and back. “Watch for the signs,” Starfish Sue says. The story of friends recognizing another friend’s need for help, takes the reader along for a journey to sea and back. You will be “sail-a-brating” with Happy as he finds the courage within himself to follow the signs- believe in yourself, don’t be afraid to try, and discover the possibilities! This book will have you singing along with Happy as you take the journey to sea and back to Seashell Safe Harbor.
About the Author
Sherrie Schmidt, a retired elementary teacher, enjoyed being creative in her classroom to make each day, a happy day. She believed that if children loved to come to school, they will learn! Using children books as a basis for all subjects taught, the students became more engaged when the lesson would relate to the story. Her first book, The Seashell Safe Harbor was inspired by her love of the coastal life, being happy, and finding the courage to pursue her dream of writing children’s books.
